“I CREATE ART TO SUPPORT HIGH FREQUENCY LIVING”
Artist Statement - Ryan B. Curtis
Creating art objects and experiences can be meaningful-but for me, the goal of art is alignment with the divine. GOD, the COSMOS, LOVE, SOURCE-however one names it-I make art as a means of connection, both for myself and for those my work touches. My practice is not rooted in any specific religion, but in a felt connection with our benevolent source.
The best time to create is when connection with Source is alive and strong-though sometimes, it's through the act of creating that the connection is rediscovered. Both pathways are valid. I am a student of this dynamic, and like any discipline, it requires both practice and play.
When I make art as the student, I do so with curiosity and awareness. I learn as I go. I make mistakes. As in life, mistakes in art can become opportunities for growth, insight, and even innovation. "Happy accidents" often carry unexpected gifts. That's why I value play and experimentation as essential parts of my process.
My mixed-media approach is rooted in printmaking. I begin where I am, allowing the moment, the materials, inspiration, and the mystery to guide me. Even in limitation, I remember: we are always at the center of the infinite-with possibilities in all directions.
What art can I make of thought and life that causes me to live inspired? What art can I make of physicality that inspires?
I'm currently available for commissioned work. In addition to original paintings for specific spaces, I also work as an illustrator, album cover designer, and muralist.
What art would YOU have me make?
Where focus goes, energy flows. Cheers to your own flow state. More life. More love. More art.
Be in touch-
Ryan
Note: Prints and reproductions listed represent only a fraction of what is available by request. If you have a piece in mind from my catalogue that isn’t yet on site- please simply reach out and we’ll make it happen for your space (and within your budget). Prints are available on wood, metal, paper and as tapestries.
Creative process
My art is currently born of experiments and practices with drawing, photography, digital collage, alternative printmaking, and mixed media painting. It’s generally a digital meets analogue exploration. The muses which I tap might reference the divine architecture of human, angelic, alien and animal forms. Virtually all that exists might inspire as I work to channel and create.
My process of hand transferring carbon prints to pre painted wood is still my main go- to. The print collage becomes a layer of the composition as I paint towards a desired aesthetic. I aim to make love and spirit visible in my work.
A large percentage of my work is on commission. I’m happy to work with clients within the parameters of our collective vision. What might you have me bring to life?
